Hello! My name is Rose! I am passionate about working with children and their families to best understand the unique gifts or talents of each child so that we can use that to help them overcome any possible barriers that might interfere with their learning and social/emotional well-being. Being a parent is not easy but being a parent when your child is struggling with social/emotional difficulties is even more challenging. I want you to know that you are not alone.
I was a caretaker for family members with similar challenges and know how to obtain the support and services that they deserve so that they can reach their full potential. I am a school psychologist by training with extensive experience serving children, families, and schools with accurate assessments and kind, caring, and thoughtful counseling. I have made it my mission to advocate for children and their families, especially English learners, and Students with Disabilities. I find it particularly rewarding to partner with families, guide them when needed, hear their concerns, answer their questions, and connect them to helpful resources in their community. That is what I will do for you as a PERL!
I was born in Haiti and moved to the United States and settled in Cambridge, MA, when I was in elementary school. My experience with sheltered language immersion and bilingual programs helped me to achieve outstanding language skills. I am fluent in Haitian-Creole/English and have some good knowledge of French and Spanish. I love spending time with my family and enjoy outdoor activities and reading. I am committed to learning, growing, and improving. Let me walk with you on your journey

My name is Adele G. Monteiro. I am married to a PTSD struggling War Veteran, mother of three biological children and one through marriage. My children are 21, 14, 7 and 13 that is through marriage that lives in Japan. I have strongly dealt with husbands struggles for years, then to learn my daughter struggled with the same symptoms, I admit I felt discouraged; however, with Faith, the right help and support, they have come to a manageable condition. I have realized how hard it was for me as a wife, as a mother, and how grateful I am for having all the people who were there to help me, that I believe makes me a great candidate for this program and able to help other families.

Hi! I'm Kristi. If you have found me then you are probably going through one of the hardest times as a parent. And I know how you feel because I have a child with mental health needs too! We've experienced many things from psychiatric hospitalizations to residential schools, all types of testing, and more.
But one of the worst parts for me was the feeling of being alone and not knowing where to turn or even what to ask. This is why I decided to become a PERL! Supporting families that are like mine to make your journey just a little easier is so important. And remember… you are not alone and you are doing fantastic!"
